2009 PURE STOCK TECHNICAL RULES

Attention Pure Stock racers, for the 2009 racing season the Pure Stock Class will compete on a bi-weekly basis, rather than every Saturday night.  The Pure Stock class will compete every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the season, unless other wise noted on the EAMS schedule for special event weekends.  Refer the 2009 schedule at www.eamsdirt.com.

 

DRIVER ELIGIBILITY:

A. This class is intended for beginner drivers.
B. Drivers that have won a feature event must contact EAMS for approval to compete in the Pure Stock division.

 

CARS:

  1. 96 inch minimum wheelbase.
  2. NO cars with V8 engines allowed.
  3. Front & Rear Tow Loop Required for wrecker purposes.

 

ENGINE:

  1. MUST be stock for make (Chevy in Chevy, Ford in Ford, Buick in Buick, etc.)
  2. NO modifications.
  3. V6 or 4 cylinder engines only.
  4. Fuel injection only. No carburetor allowed. No Turbos.
  5. Stock exhaust must run at least past the driver’s doorpost.
  6. Stock air filter and breather.
  7. Stock ignition.
  8. Alternator must work and be in original position.
  9. Battery must remain in original position.

 

TRANSMISSION:

  1. Stock automatic or stock standard transmission.

 

DRIVELINE:

  1. Front wheel drive or rear wheel drive allowed.
  2. Rear-end must be stock for make and model.

 

SUSPENSION AND FRAME:

  1. NO altering in any way.
  2. Stock shocks or struts in stock position no adjustable strut plates.
  3. No adjustable or aluminum shocks.

 

BODY:

  1. 2 door or 4 door.
  2. All glass must be removed.
  3. May remove back seat, but cover opening with metal.
  4. Doors MUST be welded or securely bolted shut.
  5. Dash must remain intact.
  6. NO cutting of body anywhere.
  7. Driver’s door may be hulled out for roll cage.
  8. Six point cage may be used. 1 ¾” diameter steel pipe minimum.

 

SAFETY:

  1. 4 point racing Seat belt and harness required. Belts must be minimum of 3 inches wide, and no less than 3 year old. Window nets Mandatory.
  2. Racing seat allowed or stock factory seat OK.
  3. Steering wheel center must be padded.
  4. Fuel cell may be used. If fuel cell is used it must be mounted inside a 0.20 gauge metal box secured by 1 inch steel straps.
  5. Approved helmet and fire suit required.
  6. Fire extinguisher REQUIRED and must be within driver’s reach.

 

WHEELS:

  1. Steel wheels only.
  2. Maximum 7 inch width wheel.
  3. Oversized lug nuts recommended.

 

TIRES:

  1. Maximum size P235-70R series tires.   Highway use DOT approved tires only.
  2. NO RACING TIRES, or racing recaps allowed!
  3. ALL 4 tires MUST be exact same size on all 4 corners (example: P195-70R-14 tire used must be the same on all 4 corners.)

 

BRAKES:

  1. Must remain stock for make and model of car.
  2. NO adjusters. Or twin master cylinders.

 

 

 

This class is intended for beginner racers, take the windows out put a roll cage in, and go racing.
