2010 PONY STOCK TECHNICAL RULES

CAR ELIGIBILITY:  This division is open to any sub compact rear wheel drive car, 4 cylinder automobile.  NO front wheel drives allowed.


DRIVER ELIGIBILITY:
A. This class is intended for beginner drivers.
B. Drivers that have won a feature event must contact EAMS for approval to compete in the Pony Stock division.

WEIGHT:
A. All participating cars must weigh a minimum of (1) one pound per cc with driver.
B. Display weight on the right rear “C” panel.

ENGINE:
A. All parts must be stock( Meaning Block, Cylinder Head, Crankshaft, and Connecting Rods). These parts must be original OEM parts, NO aftermarket parts allowed in this area.  No aluminum or aftermarket blocks of any type allowed.
B. No set back allowed.
C. Block may be surfaced, 060th over bore allowed.
D. No turbos or rotary engines allowed.
E. Racing type oil pan permitted.

F.  Bolt on windage tray allowed.

CRANKSHAFT:
A. Stock stroke steel or cast iron crankshaft ONLY.
B. No modifications of any type allowed.

CONNECTING RODS:
A. Stock only allowed, (Must be Stock length to the engine being ran, ex. 2500cc ford must have 2500 connecting rods.) no exotic rods or aftermarket rods of any type allowed.

B.  Rod pin may be bushed or floated.

PISTONS:
A.Any flat top piston, no dome or exotic pistons allowed.

CAMSHAFT:
A. Stock type or OEM flat tappet hydraulic camshaft ONLY. NO Roller cams, or Solid tappet cams. After market camshaft allowed must be with in .010” of OEM specs, Ford 2300 Maximum lift .415. NO roller cams. 
B. NO dual camshaft allowed.

CYLINDER HEADS:
A. Stock production steel heads ONLY. NO modifications or exotic materials allowed.
B. NO valve size changes, 3 angle valve jobs permitted.
C. Toyota and Nissan may have factory production aluminum heads.

INTAKE:
A. Stock intake ONLY. No porting, squaring, or epoxying of ports, plenom, or intake runners allowed.
B. No fuel injection intakes.

EXHAUST:
A. Stock exhausts manifolds or economy style headers ONLY.
B. Can run exhaust through right side door of car.

CARBURETOR:
A. Stock type Holley 500 cfm 2 barrel.
B. No modifications of any type allowed.
C. One 2" spacer or adapter plate only.

IGNITION:
A. Stock ignition ONLY. NO modifications allowed.
B. No magnetos.

FUEL AND FUEL SYSTEMS:
A. Stock type mechanical fuel pumps ONLY.
B. Racing fuel cell recommended.
C. Sunoco blue or purple only. Must not check above + - 5 on electronic
fuel checker when calibrated with EAMS racing fuel.
Racing fuel burned
at track must be bought at track.
D. Fuel tank must be mounted inside trunk and secured by two 2" x 1/8" metal straps.
E. Fuel cells must have complete steel container.
F. NO ALCOHOL, OR NO NITROUS OXIDE - GAS ONLY!!!!

CLUTCH:
A. Stock type clutch ONLY.
B. NO aluminum flywheels and NO direct drives.
C. Minimum 18lbs. On flywheels.

TRANSMISSION AND REAR END:
A. Stock factory production transmission ONLY.
B. No after market transmission allowed.
C. Stock type rear ends ONLY. No quick change.
D. Locked rear end OK.

FRAME AND SUSPENSION:
A. Front clip must be stock.
B. No weight jacks or wide 5 hubs or spindles.
C. No J- bars, torque links or coil overs allowed.

BODY:
A. Stock body ONLY. After market noses allowed .
B. Front and rear bumper covers allowed.
C. Doors, hood and deck lid only may be hulled.
D. Bodies must be full stock metal.
E. Extra sheet metal can be added to interior, but full stock firewalls
and floorboard must be retained. Rear compartment must be sealed off. Stock dash must be used ( can be covered with aluminum). No glass.
F. All interior trim and passenger seats must be removed.
G. All doors must be welded or bolted shut.
H. MUST HAVE FRONT AND REAR TOW HOOKS.

I.  Spoilers allowed, 5” maximum height, total material, side supports can be no more than 5” high at highest point, and 18” long across the bottom.

WHEELS AND TIRES:
A. 8" steel wheels maximum. Bead lock right rear ONLY.
B. 1" lug nuts mandatory.
C. Track tire EAMS Spec RC1 or RC3 Hoosier Racing Tires only. Tires must be purchased from EAMS.
D. Any DOT 8" street tire allowed. No DOT racing tires.

SAFETY:
A. All cars must have 3" safety belts and shoulder harness.
B. Must have approved helmet.
C. All drivers must wear a full fire suit.
D. All cars must be equipped with a fully charged fire extinguisher.
E. Seat must be fastened to roll bar or rail, with six 3/8" bolts and washers. Aluminum racing seats recommended.
F. 6-point cage box type. 3 bars on left door. 2 bars on right. Bars must be
welded and be no less than 1 ½", outside diameter walls must be no les than .090 steel. No pipefitting permitted.
G. Battery must be securely mounted.
H. Additional safety requirements are outlined in Section D of General Rules for all Divisions.

PROTEST:
A. Head or Oil Pan $250 - $50 will be retained by track.
B. Must protest Top End to protest Bottom End.
C. Check Cam and Ports $100 - $25 will be retained by track.
D. Visual protest $25 - $25 will be retained by track.
E. Fuel protest $50 - $50 will be retained by track.
