Steven Franklin Gaines, Sr. November 17, 1958 - September 5, 2008 PHENIX CITY, AL — Steven Franklin Gaines, Sr., 49, of Phenix City, Alabama died Friday, September 5, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday September 8th at the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Phenix City Chapel with the Reverends Randall Sanders and Alan Griffith officiating. Interment will be in Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Gaines was born November 17, 1958 in Columbus, son of the late Vernon F. Gaines and Georgie Benson Gaines. He was employed at Carquest Auto Parts and was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church of Columbus. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Gaines, son, Steven F. Gaines, II, and fiancˇe Kimberly Holmes, daughter, Shannon Gaines, grandsons, Steven F. Gaines, III, and Hunter Holmes, all of Phenix City, Al., sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Phillip Love of Roswell, Ga., numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
